Rare Okinawan kimono made of katazome 型染め (stencil dyed fabric technique) bashofu 芭蕉布 (banana fiber cloth). The cloth is made by hand tying the hair like strands inside the trunks of banana trees together and then weaving them.  The resulting effect is fabric that will not cling to the skin allowing one to cool down in the humid weather of Okinawa.
