Craftsman: 長田 晴鳳 Nagata Seiho (1957 - Present) Born in 1957 as the second son of Buddhist sculptor Nagata Haruyama 長田 晴山. In 1973, I studied under Professor Yamamoto Kakuji 山本恪二, Professor Emeritus of Kyoto University of the Arts. For the next fifteen years, he trained at Mr.Yamamoto’s studio. From 1976, he partially participated in his father Haruyama’s Buddhist statue production. He has received numerous awards to date. Under his father’s guidance, he has been involved in the creation of hundreds of prototypes and the construction of large Buddhist statues.
