Hagi Mizusashi crafted by Takamise Seiko. Hagi is an old and well respected style of ceramic teaware that began in the 1600s. The more modern crawling shino Hagi  began in the 1930s and revolutionized Hagi ware, creating a beautiful dichotomy between red clay and white glaze.

Artist Biography:

Takamise Seiko (1946-present) began aiming to become a Hagi ware potter in 1972. In 1978 Takamise Seiko was one of the potters employed by the Asahimura Akiki Kiln during it's opening.
